Physical Infrastructure
Over 7,500 square feet of air-conditioned workspace consisting of offices, conference rooms, faculty rooms, television studios, post-production workstation areas and open recreational spaces at Rajbhavan Road in Hyderabad – one of the most central locations of the city.
Over 5,000 square feet of space with offices, faculty rooms, classrooms, television studio, computer lab and seminar room at the SmarTeach e-Learning Academy at Red Hills, about 2 km away.
MEdRC’s Guest house consists of 3 air-conditioned double bed rooms. The guest house is fully furnished with Cable TV and Internet connectivity in the living room; attached bathrooms having hot-water geysers and a kitchen with fridge, micro oven, crockery, cutlery and accessories.
Studio and Video Infrastructure
MEdRC has 3 acoustically treated air-conditioned television studios, each about 18 x 24 feet. The studios are equipped with comfortable cold lighting that ensures hours of shooting without sweat! The studios have sophisticated video shooting equipment like Sony DSR 300 and Panasonic 102 DV cameras, Shure wireless lapel microphones and even TV and LCD prompters on which teacher’s speaker notes or PPT slides are projected during the talk.
MEdRC also has outdoor units with a video crew that captures knowledge outside the studio like case discussions at hospitals, operative procedures, conference proceedings, etc.
Post-Production Infrastructure
MEdRC has 80 IBM workstations, both fixed and mobile, that are used for content review & validation, slides preparation, medical illustration, 2D animation, and software development. Special high-end 3D workstations are used to do three-dimensional visualization of the human body and develop 3D animation through which various anatomical structures and pathologies could be expressed.
I.T. Infrastructure
MEdRC is equipped with IBM and DELL Media Servers, Database Servers and Storage Servers with terabytes of storage that serve to the workstations and laptops over a Gigabit LAN. Both the locations also have Wi-Fi connectivity that allows the work to flow smoothly yet securely around the several work areas like the TV studio, faculty rooms, conference rooms, etc. Processes at MEdRC are totally computerized through an internal Management Information System called SmartView that allows real-time interactivity between all members and monitoring of all activities, both academic and administrative.
Academic Infrastructure
MEdRC has 2 libraries with all prescribed text books and reference books required for MBBS education. MEdRC also has several CD’s and its own archive of over 1, 50,000 slides and learning resources built over the last
16 years.
