If we consider the numeric and biomass criteria, bacteria remains the most successful species on earth. In fact bacteria are the oldest and most abundant life forms on earth.
This course on systemic bacteriology deals with each group of bacteria like staphylococci, streptococci, pneumococci, corynebacterium, bacilli etc in detail. It covers the morphology of bacteria, culture media and staining techniques, mode of transmission to human beings, pathogenicity, host’s defence response, treatment targets, prevention etc.
